Description
First squiggle work I did for squiggleism. I identified with that tree as being of joy for discovering who you are and what you're suppose to do. The sun is the Divien. The three cypress trees on the hill represent the trinity. I did this tree at Cape Fear Studios in Fayetteville, North Carolina, a little co-op gallery of artists. This was while I was recovering from my coma/near fatal car accident. I could no longer read and write as I had which was my true love. Then, I discovered I could focus and concentrate doing art. I joined CFS and several days a week used pastels and moved to prismacolor. After I did The Glory Tree, I suddenly was getting compliments on the work. I looked at that tree and it struck me, that tree was like celebrating the realization it had discovered its true-self and purpose of life. I thought, that tree was me and I was suppose to be an artist. And the sun...the Sun was the Divine. Then I thought, my mission was to do art that give more Light to the world. I remember sitting at the table in the back of the studio and making the deal with the Divine. I'll do paintings with the Light if you keep providing me with the mana. That was over a decade ago. The painting was sold for around $100.00 and is at Cumberland County Mental Health Hospital in Fayetteville, N.C. that was originally High Smith Hospital where I was born. I was under Mr. Chandler for my brain injury and post traumatic syndrome of which depression was one of the symptoms.
