Squiggleism is An unblended impressionistic dash applied staggered beside one another or on top similar to the application of pointillism. Each squiggle represents a unit of the Divine that in theory is in all that exists. Each stroke is similar to that of the superstring theory or vibrating like sound or a wavering thread of a music note. The fundamental concept being: out of nothingness the Great Creator spoke his name (symbolic of the big bang) that is of vibration. When the vibration slows, physical things are created such as everything that exists in our universe. As a whole, Stefan sees the wavering threads as part of a...

American Van Gogh Painting For Scotland

CHARLOTTE, NC - With the September voting day for Scotland's freedom looming ever closer, American Artist Stefan Duncan, announced today he will be creating a painting symbolic of the freedom movement to aid in the Scottish National Party's effort for their country's independence.

"It will be a 30 by 40 painting similar in way of the "Lady Of Justice" I created, but have Besty Ross in her place," Duncan said. "Besty, has become symbolic of the spirit of freedom, depicted as sewing the American Flag, except in my painting, she is creating the Scotland flag, as a way of showing many Scot-Americans support for their independence."

Duncan said it will be several weeks before the painting will be promoted. The painting will be listed around $10,000. After the painting is posted as a donation, there will be a deadline of 30 days of which it will go to the highest bidder. The money raised will be given to the Scottish National Party to aid in their effort of Scotland's...

American Van Gogh Painting Live

CHARLOTTE, NC - "America's Van Gogh" Stefan Duncan will be painting live at the Charlotte International Fashion Show at the Aviary Museum in Charlotte, North Carolina, this Saturday, Feb. 15th.

Stefan was noted as becoming America's Van Gogh by David Wolk of Van Gogh Gallery. He has created a new art style called "Squigglism," unblended colors applied in staggered flowing single strokes. It is described by some as a kind of Neo-Gogh or post impressionism style.

Antony Simmons, creator of the fashion show, invited Stefan to paint throughout the event. Paintings and signed prints will be available.

"Some of my closest friends are involved in fashions for example Todd Albaum of Scarlet Plus in Charlotte, a clothing store specializing in customizing clothing for its clients. Todd has allowed me to show some of my paintings in his store. We have been playing around with the idea of me hand painting on some clothing in the near future," Stefan...

Artist Becoming American Van Gogh

Artist Becoming American Van Gogh

NEW YORK - "One particular artist is leading the contemporary impressionists in an effort to become 'America's Vincent van Gogh'... Stefan Duncan," said David Wolk of Vangoghgallery.com.

"Duncan's amazing work is a plethora of brilliant colors tossed about in a whimsical style he calls Squiggleism," David continued. " Having been greatly influenced by Vincent van Gogh, Stefan utilizes this updated technique to draw the quick strokes of the impressionists into long curvy lines. These tight eddies of color dance around his paintings lighting every feature with beauty! It is this very beauty that Stefan strives to capture in all of his work; revealing the divine in nature!"

Squiggleism is Stefan's unique art style he created in 2001 with the "Glory Tree" at Cape Fear Studios in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

David added, "Stefan's work continues to amaze us and it gives us great pleasure to be able to show it to the rest of the world. Each painting is Neo-Gogh...

Ravens Light Exhibit For April 11th

April 11th, 2012 - Charlotte, NC

This themed exhibitby Stefan Duncan is related to a writing project I am doing called "Ravens Light. It is an epic fantasy. He is using models for the paintings. They will have wings or have a raven in the painting.

" I kind of look at myself as a raven, carrying the hurt and pain, the suffering, the lack of faith, and bringing them some of the Light. In Native American mythology it is the Raven that steals the Light from another world and brings it here," Stefan said.

"As an artist, I try to capture in my imagination and spiritual eye the Light I see around me and landscapes, even in the eyes of people. Ravens Light is about the darkness of the world and the flight or ascension through faith to reach the Light. An object is green because its surface repells the green color. Ravens are black because their feathers repell the black color. They receive the Light or light colors," Stefan said.
