"Sunset On Sunroof" I sought to create paintings done in a unique style never done by an artist I have seen. I sought to capture movement in the landscapes. The wavering lines gradually gained a meaning or physical/spiritual attribute to nature. Each stroke is unblended applied in a flowing, staggered way, Each line or wave became filaments of the Great Spirit of which all is made. The Source of Light was the Great Spirit. I saw its wavering essence in everything around me. Trees became symbolic as people both bound to the earth by roots or feet, always seeking the Light. Water became the transitional state between the physical and the spiritual. A brooding mountain could represent doubt or the veil between life and death. With these concepts, my paintings had meaning and purpose than just a pretty painting or something I could splash my ego upon to be known as an artist.
