Artist's Description
The image of an Indian chief appears in the clouds to the right of the tree. This wasn't planned. I was using a sponge brush to create the clouds and when I leaned back I saw the face. I couldn't create a face like that if I tried. The high cheeks and noble face reminded me of a Native American. I created a ponytail and added the feather. It seemed to fit really well together. I pointed out the face to my wife who then pointed to the right edge and said, "He's even wearing a head piece." Then I saw what she was talking about. It was like a Chief's war bonnet of feathers pointing outward...yellow, lilac colored feathers. I knew then, the face was Native American. Upon looking around closer, there are other faces, one is below and to the right of the tree close to the trunk, a white face in the clouds. If you did watch the movie the tree is full of beautiful blues and vibrant purples I have been looking for years to find a painting like it although this is a beautiful tree.
